If You Love Me

If you love me you won't
cling to me, follow me,
spy on me.
You will allow me the solitude
I need to create, to think,
to observe, to be me.
We are a couple, but also ourselves,
needing our own  nourishing;
my fountain is not yours,
and I need your trust.
