If You Knock

If You Knock

If you knock at the gate of my heart I will open the gates wide,
I will show you the collection of embraces carefully preserved,
gathered in the drawer of memories like hidden treasures,
stored there throughout the years waiting to be rediscovered.

You will also find an infinity of kisses that float,
of smiles like butterflies of light caught in jars,
of words sweet as honey and warm as the summer sun,
all kept in velvet boxes for the day when you will come.

You will listen to songs with the melody of our old feelings,
with musical notes that dance in the air like falling stars,
careful because you will have to confirm to me with sincerity,
if you like these melodies or if they've grown too old.

I've saved everything in the drawer of your heart and of my heart,
as a reward for our love that hasn't extinguished,
as a prize for all the nights when we dreamed together,
when our souls spoke in a language that only we knew.

There is the echo of musical notes floating through the empty rooms,
they indicate the blue of flowers that never wither,
magical flowers placed in the desert of our long silence,
flowers that bloom even without water even without sun.

You knock at the door and you will see how many surprises await you inside,
you will be amazed with joy when you open the drawers,
I will open for you all the locks and all the secrets,
I will take you by the hand and lead you through the garden of memories.

We will speak the language of love that needs no words,
the language that is spoken with eyes with hands with souls,
it will be like the flower that never withers forever,
like that blue flower from the desert of silence that blooms eternally.

The drawer is full with all our precious moments gathered,
with all the breaths we shared under the same moon,
with all the heartbeats synchronized in the summer nights,
with all the dreams we wove together from threads of stars.

If you knock I will open and you will enter a magical world,
where time has stopped in place and everything is the same as then,
when our love was young and alive like a flame,
when we believed we would be together forever and more.

The collection of embraces waits to be rediscovered and felt,
each embrace preserves the warmth of the moment when it was given,
each kiss preserves the sweetness of lips that touched,
each word preserves the echo of the voice that pronounced it with love.

And the blue flower from the desert of silence continues to bloom,
even though we've been silent so long and forgot to speak,
it blooms because true love never dies,
it only waits in the drawer to be rediscovered and loved again.
