If You Have a Rose

If you have a rose
And you separate the flower from the stem
You have the beginning and the end in two hands.
Would you rather have the stem that comes with thorns
Or just the flower.
Of course, the flower.
Everyone wants the beauty, the end result.
No one cares to know how it got there.
No one wants to know about thorns and dirt.

Brooklyn, in reading your marvelous work, I noticed that you apparently are fond of roses. Me too! You may be interested in reading my poem, The Sounds Of A Rose. I read a number of your poems and enjoyed them all. I will continue to read them because I find them to be so interesting.
