if you go down to the park today

If you go down to the park today, You will not find an educated tramp in your way, Wanting to pass the time of day. Park benches free of sleeping tramps all day, No newspapers with yesterday's news today, To keep the cold at bay, No police needed now to send them on their way, Few trash collectors passing your way, With no newspaper sheets to change or toss away. Tis a sad day for all that pass this way, When the news of the day, Is not passed on to those who cannot pay. Tis a sad day for all who spend their day, On computers that never see the light of day, With owners who never pass this way, To share the news of the day, With those who can't pay, Yet are happy to text their day away, Never to be seen near a park bench on this or any other day.
