If You Could See Me Now

The old days came back to mind, when we first met the awkwardness that was before it slid to friendship, love, companionship to today when your are no longer here, time passes too quickly in its loneliness without you it passes too slowly. If you could see me now I'm older, grayer, with wrinkled brow still moody, writing poetry more for me than you holding onto the old memories reminiscing all that could have been if only, oh the if onlys remain if we had more time but here I am, still missing you after all these years. A dream or two that's all I ask you hear you sleeping in the night, to see that unforgettable smile, hear the laughter that you shared the silly giggles and joy of just being together, walk with me in the midnight hours let me know, you see me now.
