if you can, subside your fear. help someone in need. There are screams, the voices of millions; I want to close my ears, instead I listen. A drop of dew rolls off and splatters like an ocean on the earth at my feet. Who cries, a planet lost? build a bridge or fill a gap. give a bead of sweat, hold a broken bone, give a drop of blood. smell...the rotting flesh? hear...the cry of the land? There are screams, the voices of millions; I want to close my ears, instead I listen. A drop of dew rolls off and splatters like an ocean on the earth at my feet. Who cries, a planet lost? touch the face of the ravaged. see the signs engraved ahead, taste the salt in the atmosphere. come weep with me. how do you measure the loss when even Angels cry? How do you weigh a tear?

Your drop of dew, the splatter as a waking call - am I understanding the symbol? This one, on the mind, like angel's tears, weighs heavily. Deep stuff, Maurice, well worth many reads. Love, daver

This is such good work, Mauricio, and if any of Giorgio's friends are around to see this, I want you guys to know, poetry does not have to be metered to be good poetry, for PETE'S SAKE!!!! The art of free verse is in the choosing of one's words, and using the sounds of the words, and the way of making the line breaks, etc. You do all of this so well. The ending line, it says it all.

Andrea Giorgio said he thought Maurice was a good poet. I feel blessed that I love and understand most poetry.
