If Women

If Women

If the earth floats through the universe
borne on the back of a giant tortoise
it surely must be female
for the ride is smooth and silent
and rarely falters.

if women were the weaker sex
evolution would have stopped
in the warmth of primordial seas
eve would have remained a rib
god would not have had to invent her.

if women were truly the weaker sex
the earth would shriek
with the accumulation of their pain.

Very thought-provoking poem, Pat. I agree totally w/John F. A good mental muscle flexing poem. Keep on making us think ... think harder. Aurora bright poetry. Your pen shines again. Love and more love always.

I have to readily agree with you on this one, Patricia. Men might be stronger and more aggressive...but woman are far tougher mentally. Men can learn to be tough (or act it...as most quite often do) woman are born tough! Therein lies the difference. Insightful little poem, Patricia...as always by you. :) john

uhm ... the reality of it all is ... there is no weaker sex ... what mind would you burdon ... how many tote sacks have been used ... how much information can you handle ... tell me ... who asks ... who is my mother ... surely not a box father ... nothing ever forgiven from a box ... pretty rocks best friend ... diamond dogs ... or what ...

When I grew up we were considered the weaker sex by all Patriarchy. This poem comes out of that era. Thank you for comment.

I agree--women are a symbol of strength and all that is good in this world--a unique creative thought!
