If While

If while on this Earth
I treat you bad,
please forgive me
for making you sad...

If while on this Earth
I curse at you,
please forgive me
for my ignorance showing through...

If while on this Earth
I show you no gratitude,
please forgive me
for my distasteful attitude...

If while on this Earth
I do any hurtful act,
please forgive me
for hiding my tact...

If while on this Earth
you still give me your love,
I know that you've been sent
for me...from the Heavens above.

George, we all make mistakes and forgiveness is something we learn from our Creator. I believe in forgiving and second chances, even third chances. This lovely poem goes to my favorites. It has special meaning to me. Love, Carolyn
