If To Be Is To Love

My heart is distressed, love had made of it its own mistress
A glance, a shared smile, softened eyes
O how fast does my heart beat, yearning for a caress
How hard is life faced with fate's lies

If to love is to be
And if to be is to love
Then come, with me do celebrate
Love is now known in my gait

Pray do last, pray wheels of fate, turn fast
And tie me in his gaze, so gentle and vast!
