If time could feel

If time could feel,
Would it feel sorrowful,
And try to cling to the moments
That were good?

Or would it be relieved
That the bad ones had passed away—
Although they would not be forgotten?

If time could feel,
Would it wonder
If it would last forever,
Just ticking by:
Minute by minute,
Day by day,
Decade by decade?

If time could feel,
Would it try to rewind—
Try to undo the things
That had already been done?

If time could feel,
Would it pause
Just for a moment—
A moment that no one would notice?

Then keep on,
Slipping on again,
Forever.
