If Only You Knew

If only you knew, The pains, and tribulations, The restraints, emotional stress, Unbeknown to you, I protect your mind, I accept the hurt, punishing rules all for you, When I call you during forced, limited times, Without knowing, anxious, you reluctantly speak, Prompted, taught short words, and controlled mind, You say fine, okay, or you playing, or you can’t hear me, No sharing of your day, or your feelings with me, it hurts, My time without you, seems unfair, I can’t share, it hurts, Your excitement taken away for those special moments, I patiently wait till we see each other again, I keep trying, All our times spent, together, happy and free minded, Your inner real self-reveals, your love and happiness, I love you my daughter and I do know the truth.
