If Only You Knew
Heaven is your home now thank the good Lord
If only you knew your roses have bloomed
Our daughter trims them the way you adored
Without such memories we'd both be doomed
We had a picnic today just for you
If only you knew the tears that were shed
We ate your roast beef and bean salad too
And never talked of the future we dread
It has been a year since you went away
If only you knew how slowly it passed
Each night seems as if it has come to stay
'Til a new day without you dawns at last
And so the world is smaller without you
But, oh, you are loved - if only you knew
