If Only My Words I Could Take Back

The words passed through my lips, Before my head had time to think. The inflicted pain was not the intent; If only my words I could take back. Before my head had time to think My emotions got the better of me. If only my words I could take back; Suffering in silence I would prefer. My emotions got the better of me; As sometimes they’re apt to do. Suffering in silence I would prefer; My immaturity shone through. As sometimes they’re apt to do, Words were spoken with a bitter sting. My immaturity shone through; It was with thoughtless ignorance. Words were spoken with a bitter sting; The inflicted pain was not the intent. It was with thoughtless ignorance The words passed through my lips.

This poem is full of wisdom...til this day I am probably suffering from hurtful words I have said in the past. Our tongues are the most powerful weapons of all. Congrats on your win. Gwendolen

Each one of us knows exactly of which you speak here, in this insightful poem....How often do we wish we could rewind the moment and take back the words? Loved this!
