If Only I Knew
If only I knew what to say,
When your words began ripping me apart.
When your cruel knife pierced my thoughts.
If only I knew what to do,
When you began to push me away.
When your tidal wave washed me off the shore.
If only I knew what to expect,
When little tales began peering through the curtains.
When shadows followed your deceiving light.
If only I knew what would make you shake,
Your face would beam, having the rude tilt taken away.
Then I can smile, my face far away from fear or shyness.
But it's only if I knew.
