If Only I Had Known

If only I had known If only I had been there You would still be here How could you not know Didn't you see me crying Didn't you see the war The war for my soul Raging behind my eyes As the assaults continued Allies were lost So many traitors in my heart But I did know didn't I Turning a blind eye to your pain Too much trouble I so many more important things I put you out of my mind So self righteous So much better If only you had seen me You passed me Burns's a stranger I fought so many battles all alone I was so tired the war lost Now you see my soul Through the shattered windows If only you had known
