If only I did more

If only I did more then maybe you'll still be here,
but now I have to hold the memories of you close to my heart,
the memories we once shared.

If only I could've done more to change your perception on life.

I could've sat with you and listened for longer,
so you felt comfortable to come to me when you feel incredibly alone.

However,
I write this with small comfort,
knowing you are free from pain and suffering.

But I still question,
what if I did more?
