What it is
You want me to be
Would your love
Shine down
Upon me
If only I could be
What it is
I cannot be
Your love
Will remain
That mystery
For me
If only I could be
More than a donor
Let natures love
Branch and blossom
That canvas
That impossible painting
Will remain
Blank
If only I could be
Able
To change
Times circumstance
Would our paths
Have crossed
To set a new fork
Upon that table
If only I could be
But
Surely not
For thee
So these words
Will set that
Unrequited love
And me
