I can tell when clouds start running through your head your eyes veer off into the distance and sometimes they tear up It’s obvious your worst regret will be letting go of your grandson’s little hand Everything you’ll miss the moments you’ll never get to share the laughter the proud moments that you’ll miss the smiles and giggles the sloppy hugs new grandchildren you’ll never meet Life will go on without you in spite of tears and sorrow they’ll all miss you they’ll all remember how you’ll have given all the love you could and more no doubt of that But the hardest will be leaving behind a little one who could never understand how a grandpa can turn into an angel who’s gone to live way up into the sky AP: 1st place 2020 Posted on July 13, 2019

Oh Miss Line you have captured the real sorrow of a death around a small child. It is sad. We should strive to be like a child who accepts the possibility that there is life after death and Grandpa will be waiting for us in the future. I believe it. God would have never made this grand universe from nothing just for our energies to fade to nothing when we pass.

There is so much evidence that there is life after death. We are but caterpillars who can't see beyond but must have faith.

This is such a deeply moving and intimate poem. The way you describe his emotion in that first stanza is so evocative and powerful. Life is hard, but leaving this life (and the ones we love best) can be an emotionally complicated process as well. Your poetry speaks volumes... my prayers are still with you and your loved ones!

Touching! --and touches all the bases as well, as life does go on even after loved ones leave, however difficult that is at first. :) gw

Oh Line this is really such a poignant write and reminds me so much of when my dear hubby died 10 years ago, leaving us all and his two darling grandchildren, who have now grown to be 18 and 21. He has missed seeing their achievements and milestones, but maybe he can see them and is indeed watching over us all - I truly hope so. You have written a wonderful emotional poem that pulls the heartstrings and touched my soul Line. With kindest thoughts Ann xx
