If Only He Had

He looked at himself lying on sand in the most quizzical way
Just couldn't understand anything
If he was lying there who was thinking and talking
Much later when few people came and pronounce him dead, the truth dawned to him
He went near them and shouted at top of his voice I am here! Very much alive!
But they could neither see him nor hear him
No this couldn't be happening to him...
There was so much more he wanted to do
So many mistakes to be corrected
So many words more to be spoken
God I want to live please give me a life he pleaded
Alas! Nothing could be done.
He watched helplessly as his last rites were performed
If only he had.....
There was a long list of them.
