If Only For a Little While

And she splashed in the waves like she was twelve. Though she was now sixty-nine. The sun shone down on her grey head as she yelled " the water is fine !". But it wasn't fine, it was damned cold and she didn't mind it a bit. And after she swam she found a great log, the perfect spot to just sit. So many years were now behind her, so few were left ahead. But frolicking here in the ocean waves was the best of times she said. The sun shone down and radiated almost as brightly as her smile, making her feel almost young again if only for a little while.
