If Only
If only I was ever the first pick,
the one they'd actually choose,
If only I wasn't always second best,
instead, I'm forever the one to loose,
If only for once I was invited,
at the very start of the night,
If only they knew or felt the pain,
being kept out of mind and from sight,
If only someone was here to listen,
about my never ending struggle,
If only I didn't have as much,
to manage alone and juggle,
If only I actually felt for once,
just being me was good enough,
If only to feel worthy and winning,
didn't have to be so tough,
If only I didn't feel the urge,
to fill this invisible void,
If only I never felt this pain,
maybe wouldn't feel so destroyed,
If only we could realise how some feel,
deep inside from day to day,
If only more could see, it's not just them,
so many others can feel this way,
If only we knew the battles,
others have going on in their mind,
If only you can be one thing,
then make sure it, to be kind.
