If Only
If only birds, zebras, lions and slugs,
Could talk,
If only trees, flowers, grass and mud
Showed love,
They would tell you how brave and smart you are,
How beautiful your eyes are even when you cry,
They would tell you how they miss you when you’re gone,
How it sucks to be here on their own,
If only I could tell you what you mean to me,
If only you could treat yourself so kindly,
I would tell you how the world is so much better with you in it,
I would tell you how my heart flutters when you’re with me and I mean it,
If you could only love yourself just as much as I love you,
It would be easier for you to love someone else too!
If the birds could talk and trees showed love,
They would tell you that you have a beautiful soul,
They would tell you how amazing you look when you smile,
And when you crack a joke you make this life worthwhile.
