If Only
amid the chaos I hold her close
caressing her soul
whole
both inside and out
if only...
for tonight
I am a rock skipped across her pond
submerging for hours at a time
a quiver to quell the calm
a mystery to anyone
it's these shadows I'm seen
here and now
gone but not far
to come again and again
winds trace her lips
it's rough and it's hard
the moments burn
and minds meld
darkness hides
a swollen lens
if only...
cuz it's right
