If Only

If only there was more time, If only I wasn't always tired, If only I wasn't so differently wired, If only we had a little extra dime, The two words I always turned to, My immediate reflex responses, Helping me make the best excuses, Whenever there was something I had to do. But then a virus so minuscule, Comes a-waltzing surprisingly, Granting me to be lazy ceaselessly, Not having to follow any rule. Endless time, with no where to be, Movies just waiting to be watched, No more people to avoid and dodge, And a bed to sleep in excessively. Could this actually be true? But something was clearly amiss, And swiftly faded my bliss, When responsibilities cast a grey hue. Because now, there was nothing to cover, My laziness and laid back attitude, No more excuses to find in this free solitude, So I turn to those words again like a destitute, If only lockdown could just be over.
