If Not For Her, I'D Not Know Love

I dream of her with fond remembrance
Those days we shared, so bright, so free
A passionate youth, so full of romance
But love, it had, no guarantee

She wanted more, she said she needed
I no longer satisfied the dreams she had
My friends had said, but I never heeded
Should I have listened to avoid being sad?

For then the day, she up and left me
I thought my heart would love no more
Through the tears I just could not see
That truly life had much more in store

For then I met the true love of my life
A family we now share, my lover, my wife

YAY! The exact thing happened to me. The "love of my life" broke my heart and away I ran, crushed - only to meet my husband and start my loving family - God sees when we do not, thank Goodness!!! Awesome poem of love. Love Kristin
