If Not For Her

The breath in me weakened
even before we became one.
Every palpitation was priceless
Her presence was deliberate
Her purpose was me.

My heart slowed with the possibility
Of her entrance into the same room
She was near when I collapsed.
I was going to be cupid's conman
that day just to steal a kiss of life.

She broke the ice to ask if I
was okay, as she felt my wrist,
It happens I would always pulse for her.
Then as she neared to open my chin
I felt the warm breathe of life within.

We counted the seconds that passed
While pressing insistently on my chest
Two rings meant to be linked together
It was magisterial what she did for me
But now I would need her lips forever.

I liked your poem. We really don't need to cover imperfections and we are all beautiful in our own way. Sometimes it's not always about the outside the external but what's on the inside the inward person. If you have a good personality or if you're caring and fun to be around that matters more than your make up and fancy expensive clothes and everything else people think they need to be special.

Wow, I Have Heard Of Someone Falling Within Infatuation's Grip Towards One That Has Helped Save Their Life ? Although, We Shall Trust In The Hands Whom Shape These Hearts; Never To Plunge From Her Ledges Edge Into Unknown Realms Of Obsession; Hence Possession ? Smile, Welcome To PoetrySoup And Quite Lovely Your Love ~ Love, John
