If Love Exists

If love exists, why can't I find it
Am I not worth it, or isn't it real?
If it doesn't, how can I long for it
And what can I call then what I feel?

If love exists, why hasn't it come to me
Or am I too vile and trivial in his eye?
If it doesn't, then what is that I see
In holding a hand, a kiss or a sigh?

If love exists, why can't I touch it and grab it
And hold it to my anxious yearning heart?
If it doesn't, why do I then think about it
And why can't I get from longing apart?

If love doesn't exist, I would wish it to be
And if love exists, then it hasn't chosen me
