If I Were Your Love
If I were your love
I would sand my sharp edges smooth
And keep my touch soft
If I were your love
I would hold you
So tight that the cold winds of life couldn’t reach
If I were your love
I would wrap you up in pretty cloth
And kiss your forehead each night before bed
If I were your love I would put bandaids on those cuts you hide away
And wash the dirt off you’re soul
But I was not your love
And your love was not love at all
