If I Were a Poet

if i were a poet
i would write about love and romance,
i would write about not being a poet
but being an artist
poetry is an art

i would right what i see
and sea what i write
i would take my words
and fly like an eagle

my love poems would have happy endings
like your average fairy tale story.
oh how i would love to write
and write to love
i would write like the wind
on a warm summer day

oh how my poetry would mesmerize you
oh how it would control you
it will make you its servant
and you'd serve it for all eternity

so yeah if i was a poet
i would write about
anything
and everything
