If I Were a Pet

I want to be a bunny so awesomely funny with antics that are zany for granddad and grand nanny. To them I'll bring warmth sweetly midst interactions friendly knowing they like me surely as good pets, very dearly. There's something I wish to be not a mammal that's furry since I want wings, you see soaring up high, heavenly. I would be a busy bee constantly buzzing with glee thanking God in my blest spree cheerful while flying free. Here and there, I sing gaily praising the good Lord* daily optimizing time surely midst strength's zest, never vainly. From my usual hive, I flee not to a flower or tree but toward food factory that uses bees' victory. I'm purposed for great journey production of much honey optimizing well money to supply all and many. Grateful that I'm blest fully sans sting midst peace joyously I'll do my role faithfully for the Creator blissfully.
*Psalm 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. April 18, 2026 3rd place, "Shape Shifting Animal. Light-hearted Fantasy" Rhyme Poetry Writing Contest Sponsored by Natasha L Scragg; judged on 5/3/2026

Thank you for your entry Beata. Love the way you connect the creatures to the creator. In the bible, he is referred to as "the happy God" [1Timothy1:11] and his creation brings him joy. I like the way this connection helps the reader to consider a trio perspective. That of the animal, that of people and that of God. :-D
