If I Was a Poet - Would I Even Know It

If I was a Poet – Would I Even Know it

That is the question that I ask
As I work on my task
But then I start to realise
With my own very eyes
And using my own ears to hear
That I cannot lift that prize
Because a poet never lies

So, to say I am a poet
Is just like saying that I know it
But I can never say
That I know every way
To write a Sonnet or Limerick, or all those other forms of it
I have tried trust me, just to be only me
I hope therefore that you appreciate
I will never be that great

Love your poem! You are honest. True, you may not know all the forms, I don't either. But you have the heart of a Poet ! The rest you can learn Panagiota Romios
