If I must be alone
From early days, my path diverged alone,
Not as the others danced beneath the sun.
Their laughter echoed; mine a silent tone,
A melody of one, by none begun.
The brook’s soft murmur spoke in tongues to me,
While others heard but water’s gentle flow.
In rustling leaves, a cryptic symphony,
A world within, where only I could go.
The tempest’s roar, to them a fearsome sound,
To me, a chorus of the soul’s deep fight.
In solitude, my richest truths are found,
A canvas painted in the darkest night.
Yet in this aloneness, strength is spun,
A solitary journey, mine begun.
