If I Knew Me

If I knew me when I was young
My appearance would be less concerning
I’d focus more on achievements
And understand the importance of learning

If I knew me when I was young
I’d believe that I was smart
I’d value creativity
And know my strength is in my heart

If I knew me when I was young
I’d be brave in the face of adversity
I’d realize that failing is scary
But quitting is so much worse for me

If I knew me when I was young
I’d say no with more conviction
I’d walk away from those who hurt me
And I’d trust my intuition

If I knew me when I was young
I’d be mindful of my actions
I’d be cautious with my insults
And thoughtful about my reactions

If I knew me when I was young
I’d feel I was deserving
I’d take my second chances
Knowing I was worth them

If I knew me when I was young
I’d be proud of who I am
Oh how I wish the younger me
Knew who I was back then

Such wise advice Nicky. "If I knew me when I was young I’d say no with more conviction I’d walk away from those who hurt me And I’d trust my intuition" - wow!
