If I Held My Hand Out What Would You Do

What would you do? If I held my hand out; And in my hand; I would be holding a small smelly trout; Goldfish dying in the seas; People eating things that shouldn’t be And they all pretend that they didn’t see; My hand out; I’m just a peasant boy; Lost and all alone in this unpleasant world; Ah! , lonely, so lonely me; What will the future hold for me? I can’t wait to see the Aquarius; The astrological signs I’m not curious; To see the future for me; It’s not laid down by the trees; Lookin for a pleasant place to be; Whom shall write my history? Shall I live my life in full misery? Where will I be? To see the future for me; Babies’ crying in their cribs; Prisoners of War still missin in action; Whom am I to print a retraction? I’m just a peasant child you see; Looking for a pleasant place to be My hand out; I’m a peasant boy; Lost and all alone in a peasant world; Lookin for my peasant girl; You see this future held for me Now astrological signs got me somewhat curious; You see I was birth under the sign of Aquarius; So am I asking you.. I am asking you what you would do; If I held my hand out; 2/18/1971 Written words by James Edward Lee ©1971, 2019
