If I Had Ways

If I had ways of finding you All answers, love, I soon would tell The ways though sorrow, ways between The pain and days of wanting less Of turns under the stone. I’d tell The strategies and subtleties To cope with grief and loss. Ending Then your sentence of misery, Diminishing that bar to hope, I’d wait for you to shine as you Once were and without fear to sing Of joys released, of loves known well. And seeing your healed face, I’d turn, I’d hasten steps to hide away, Knowing enough: you were somehow Restored, in love your soul re-born. If I had ways of finding you, Those answers, love, I’d tell you now, And I would see you start again Upon that path we all have worn.
