If I Had One Wish....
If I had one wish what would it be
to be wealthy …have the world at my feet
or to be famous and admired by all
Would I wish to be smart and lead the world
Or to possess fortunes untold?
If I had one wish would I wish for the stars
That twinkle above.. filling us with awe
Would I want to earn money to cherish and hoard
Or build a big castle over which to lord
If I had one wish would it be to own property
or sail the widest seas
Eat caviar downed with whiskey and cheese
Maybe I could buy me an island a ship and a reef
To spend my life in comfort and ease.
So many choices there are, which one to choose
Deciding what to wish for is overwhelming indeed
Yet after much thought and I think you’ll all agree
If I had one wish this is what it would be.
I’d wish for my heart to be filled with love
To extend to others..and the world at large
So that through my love the world will know
Alas.... that illusive state ..... ......Everlasting Peace.
