If I had known it was our last walk together
If I had known it was our last walk together,
In those late evenings you adored, I would have slowed my steps,
Leaving your imprint deeper in the sands of fleeting time.
If I had known it was our last ice cream together,
I would have bought your favorite flavor to see your sweet smile,
And offered you the last bite of mine, with the same love.
If I had known it was the last time we embraced tightly,
I would have held you closer, stronger, to feel your warmth deeply.
If I had known it was our last kiss, I would have prolonged the moment,
With more passion, to lose ourselves in the eternity of the moment.
If I had known it was our last meeting, I would have begged you,
To stay by my side, to fall asleep in my arms one last time.
If I had known it was our last conversation, I would have told you,
That you are the moon of my sky, the sun of my life, the scent of my flowers,
The rhythm of my blues, the sweetness of my peach, the milk of my coffee,
The bubble in my bath, my inspiration and pride, my true love.
You are poetry, my dear, and even if death should part us,
Love will be enough, and I will love you not just in this universe,
But in every one of them, and beyond any known existence,
Because our love transcends time and space, infinite.
