If I Could Just Go
If I could return to youth's embrace,
I'd seek the traces of my past mistakes,
Examine the stones that caused me to fall,
And cherish the lessons, one and all.
With newfound wisdom, I'd take a new stride,
On that old pathway where dreams reside,
Toward the horizon of aspirations bright,
Igniting my heart with fervent light.
Yet, impossible it seems, for alas,
The past is gone, never to amass,
Regrets for missed chances, I must admit,
Yesterday's moments forever remit.
