If I Could Be a Thousand Things

If I could be a thousand things
I think I'd be a rose,
And spend my life where beauty
Oh so delicately grows.

And I would wish some gentleman
Might pick me for his bride,
That I might know her gentle touch
And burst with crimson pride.

Yes, that would be the thing to do,
To become a velvet rose,
And beckon to each passing love
With a gay and gallant pose!

Hi Mel, this would be the best poem, I've read today by far. I like, the thought and cuteness of a man considering to be the one flower, that melts a woman's heart... LOL, mighty sneaky of you... I know, I am the lover of the rose. It's been a while since I somewhat got a rose. Velvet, seems to be a sweet and nice way to be in a nice poetic and romantic sense... enjoyed...Linda

See, you're a true romantic...like me. God help us lol Yeah, I know what moves women. I don't know why I do (three older sisters, maybe), but I do. I study them, I treasure them...yep, I'm a romantic. I'm hard to catch, though; elusive as a butterfly. Butterfly? Where'd that come from? lol Be good, and I'll send you a dozen or two :)...xox...mel

Thank you Connie. Now that's a comment worth saving :) I luv the classics of yeter year. Dickinson is a distant relative, and my favorite poet. I would give anything to spend an hour with her. Imagine. Thank you so much for the read and awesome comment...xxx...mel
