If I Could
If I could see beyond distant space;
Through planets and through galaxies.
And follow paths that space ship trace;
Where lies the world of Socrates.
If I could fly through empty space;
Far way beyond the Milky Way.
And move to and fro at super pace;
Where mortal fear induces all to pray.
If I did live in that barren space;
Without the sun and its glowing face.
Some hundred light-years from this place;
Where people lose their knightly grace.
I would shun the vast spine chilling moulds,
And come to live within this fold.
