If I Close My Eyes

When I close my eyes and can not see you near, were I to shut out sound my ears never to hear your laughter or your cry, if my heart should stop beating my passion would still burn, if by chance I did not exist never chance to be, never find your kind heart's touch - I would still know, still feel, still sense, the love that was alone, for you and me; the memory of your spirit, time long before your last goodbye the laughter and joy we shared the tears that broke your heart the forgiveness in your smile, to see it, feel it, ache within the embrace of its demise every fiber in my being silenced by its cries it is something that my soul can only caress laying wide the solitary emptiness forever the love I still confess to reveal everything between us now left if I just close my eyes.
