If I Become a Liberal

If I become a liberal will I create a society dependent
Will I step on a rape victim just to protect the defendant
Will I raise taxes to make the working man pay
Then take Social Security and give it away
Will I help our congress create a country of fear
Will I have my head up my butt so far I can’t hear
Will I seek total dependency across the nation
Giving out welfare checks instead of education
Will I smile discreetly and tell you that I’m on your side
Then take away your incentive and take away your pride
Will I spend your money freely in any way that will suit me
If I become a liberal, will somebody please shoot me.

how right you are Vince, and it's going to take more than mere mortals, to make the changes that this world so desperately needs, man cannot change the hearts of others, they can not make them be less selfish, or conninving, or greedy, I could go on and on, the sad thing is, is that this write is so truthful, great one Vince, and thank you take care Deneen

LOL. I'm really not a liberal, but I have know people from all sides that this could be about. It's like judging a book by it's cover. Loved the poem, witty and very well written. Made me laugh...and that's always a good thing....Linda

I'm a liberal, but I thought this poem was still well written. Keep up the good work.
