If I Awake

When I lay my head down to rest, I pray to God that I've done my best. And before I go to bed each night, I search my heart to see if I've done what is right. For I never know if I'll ever awake again. That's something that's not to be known to men. Wakeing up is something that I hope to do, And if I awake I'll have more time to spend with you. Well My fate is in the hands of God, As along lifes pathway I must trod. And if I should die before I wake, I pray to God my soul He'll take., Surely His mercy has been extended to me, And by grace someday His face I will see. Oh, What love Jesus has for us all, If only upon His name we will call. He's gone to prepare a place in Heaven so fair, It's up to me if I want to go and live over there. By Charles E.
