if ever there is no moon
hanging above your night sky,
tuck all your worries under your pillow.
don't let them hold you hostage, simply sleep.
sleep tight; you'll wake up to a rising Sun.
if ever you're lost in life's
intricate, serpentine maze,
do not be dismayed; they come with forks, too.
you'll find your way, that I can assure you.
keep moving, you'll find one in your journey.
if ever you find yourself
trapped beneath the undertow
of consuming despair, don't fret or fear.
you'll get your head above water if you
cling to the unbreakable thread of hope.
if ever you lose your faith
in humanity, in God,
it's never too late to find your way back.
with faith, you're never in the dark for long,
for the Lord will help guide you to the light.
and if ever you need me,
day or night, reach out to me.
