If a Wall Were To Spring Before Us
A wall, we could have built across our eyes,
and this, a fragile safety, would subdue
the throbbing pulse of fear that triggers cries
and lights the lamps that bring me back to you.
A trail of lanterns swaying like the feet
of innocence o'er castle walls of stone,
so sturdy in their girth they firmly greet
the wealth of swaying lamps that lights our home.
