If
If
If your love was a flower that bloomed in the spring,
Would I be enough to secure it with what the harsh winter brings?
Could I view it in the mornings before picking it in the fall?
Place in the warmth, would it continue to grow tall?
If your beauty was a shower that fell upon the earth,
Could its wetness quench my endless thirst?
Could I drink upon it from my endless glass?
Would my dryness be of the past?
If your kindness was a band-aid I placed upon a cut,
Would it be strong enough to pull my broken heart shut?
Would the healing be within my sight?
Would I start to see the difference tonight?
If you are indeed everything that you appear to be,
Then the Good Lord must have sent you here for me.
For my eyes can be fooled; my heart can be blind,
But you appear to be a miracle, I never thought I’d find.
