Idle dreams

Come, come now, let’s be honest about this
What are the powers we wish to attain
Given that our Self is love, light and bliss
Yet whilst on earth we measure loss and gain

What about the gift of bilocation
Overcoming limitation of space
Free to travel to any location
Instantly of course, as God’s boon of grace

To live forever in body youthful
Comforted by destiny that is kind
But it’s heart not form that is beautiful
And what about friends who’ll leave us behind

Beyond space-time, our true Self is complete ~
What’s there to ask for when we’re bliss replete

Hello US, I like how your sonnet opens an inquiry and ends like a doorway with each question peeling away another layer of what we think we want. I love how you move from bilocation to immortality only to circle back to the heart, the one place where all those powers dissolve anyway. Once bliss is known, the wish-list empties itself. Blessings, Daniel

I’m happy you enjoyed this line of inquiry, Daniel. As Ramana Maharishi said, ‘All that that comes and goes is unreal. Look for that which does not come and go. That thou Art. Tat Tvam Asi.’
