I'D Love To Know Love

I'd love to know love
and not just the typical kind
I'd like to know the unconditional
no matter what you'll forever be mine
type of love

The ones expressed with not just kisses
but with hugs

I often dream about these things
because truthfully I haven't seen
these sentiments displayed on my
big screen.

The love of now is tainted.
No one tries to repaint it.
So far I haven't seen any changes.
People treat love like it's tasteless.
Use it and abuse it like mouth wash
until they've gotten their full
and down the drain it goes
leaving someone hurt
and the other the fool

You think I'm going to
throw myself into this pool?
I'd love to know love
and I know love would love to know me
but I've been playing hide and seek for so long
I'm not sure love and I will ever be in sync

So I throw on that thong and pretend
that it's comfortable
when I'd rather have some granny panties
on if only I had someone to snuggle next to
who could love me like I was meant to
my single days would be through

But who am I kidding?
Love and I are strangers
I wish I knew love
the independent girl walks alone
and flips her own pages

I know it's not the common poem... I just wrote what I felt. Wasn't trying to go for any special form or order... just rambled as you said...

Theme is good but it seems more to me like rambling thoughts of love. The flow is not good, it takes away from the message. Nice try with the imagery and metaphor and simile. Judy Riley
