I'D Like To Know

The freeways are packed,
Long faces, fatigue, stress
Where are you going?

Like rats in a maze,
Guzzling gas, polluting air
What is so important?

Cell phones and laptops,
Purity of quiet lost
Mankind advances?

These are not really "advances," are they, fellow LNC. You sum up my feelings on the state of our world today very well in this poem. Indeed, where are we all going with our long faces and fatigued bodies. Thanks for the reminder of the "purity of quiet lost." Awesome poem, Barbara, and it heads to my favorites! Love you, Carolyn

Therein lies the question. This is a timely and thought provoking poem. Part of the factor is greed. When will people that money and power can't buy what truly matters. Keep on writing and sharing your poetry with us. Karen
