Ice Nymph

Love came to me one happy spring,
took me firmly by the hand;
we walked a way together
and, oh, the joyous things we planned.

We hardly noticed summertime,
too ardently in love were we;
abruptly cool, autumn arrived,
unveiled her flame-like artistry.

But numbing winter's frozen breath
blighted my world with frigid grays;
like a homeless ice nymph drifting,
your glacier love floated away.

When done properly, metaphors of love and seasons never grow old. Very well done Faye. Jim
